Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emmanuel Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salazar has chosen Sum 41 - In Too Deep as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Emmanuel Jung has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emmanuel Jung! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ted Salazar! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salazar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jung pinned against the ropes. Jung gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A punch combination from Jung misses. Salazar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Salazar trying to move into half guard but instead Jung has managed to sweep!
Jung is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Heart Cave (10 elites, 3 double-elites, 1 triple) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Jung missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jung throws a big elbow that misses. Jung is looking to work some ground and pound but Salazar has wrist control. Salazar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jung accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jung with a flurry of punches that miss. Jung wanted to stand there but Salazar had control of the position. Salazar throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jung gets to his feet - Salazar follows without any prompting. Jung fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jung. Salazar does a little dance to reset his feet. Jung throws a one two combo.
Salazar tries for a takedown but Jung sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jung throws a series of punches but Salazar avoids them all with ease. Jung will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Salazar fails with a takedown attempt. Emmanuel Jung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Salazar. Salazar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salazar is thwarting Jung's attempts to control the position. Jung wants to get back to full guard. Jung has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jung slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jung avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jung is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Salazar is in close to Jung's body, working some short punches and elbows. Salazar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jung. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jung manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Salazar manages to get himself to full guard.
Jung lands a couple of digs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jung throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Salazar works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jung's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jung trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Salazar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jung postures up in Salazar's guard and throws a big left but Salazar blocks it. Jung throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Salazar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jung postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Salazar throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Salazar controls Jung momentarily but Jung frees himself. Salazar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jung is one step ahead there. Jung throws a big elbow that misses. Salazar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jung stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jung wants it to stay on the feet. Jung swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Salazar fails with the takedown. Jung went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Salazar shoots for a takedown but Jung saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Salazar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jung's waist but Jung gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Salazar off to one side. Jung appears to be looking for a big counter. Salazar looks winded! Salazar takes a shot right to the bread basket. Jung scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Emmanuel Jung dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Left hook, right uppercut from Jung. Salazar tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jung defends well and Salazar ends up having to push Jung into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jung scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Salazar misses with a takedown letting Jung counter with a right hand. Jung lands a jab to Salazar's midsection. Jung misses with a body shot.
Salazar is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Jung with a body shot. Salazar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jung fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Salazar on the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jung scores with a punch to the head.
Salazar is rocked! Jung throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Salazar's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Jung dives in looking to finish as Salazar flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Jung's strikes! Jung is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Salazar's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Salazar was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Emmanuel Jung! Emmanuel Jung retains his bantamweight title! Emmanuel Jung spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. In defeat, Ted Salazar stepped up to the mic, saying 'LETS GO AGAIN'.
