Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Buttler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Hussey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Buttler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Denis Hussey!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buttler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Buttler shoots and misses

and Hussey counters by moving into the clinch.
Buttler is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Buttler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hussey makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Hussey has hold of one of Buttler's legs. Buttler is fighting the takedown attempt but Hussey gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hussey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hussey is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hussey stopping the sweep attempt from Buttler.
Buttler has momentary wrist control but Hussey slips an elbow through the middle.
Hussey controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Buttler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Buttler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hussey gets to his feet. Buttler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nice takedown defense from Hussey. No joy for Buttler on that attempt.

Hussey shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hussey controlling the action here.
Hussey lands with a punch from half guard.

Hussey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Buttler sees it coming and defends easily.

Hussey is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buttler tries to kick Hussey off but Hussey keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hussey looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Hussey with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Buttler is trying to control but can't.
Hussey scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Hussey is thwarting Buttler's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hussey is nestled in close to Buttler, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Buttler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hussey pulls his head out easily.
Buttler is breathing heavily.
Hussey controlling the action here.

Hussey working over Buttler with some ground and pound. Buttler looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hussey content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hussey is thwarting Buttler's attempts to control the position.
Hussey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buttler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hussey is pressing down on Buttler's thigh, looking to free his foot. Buttler is holding on for now.
Hussey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hussey working over Buttler with some ground and pound. Buttler looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hussey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Buttler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hussey content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Buttler is looking for a sweep. Hussey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hussey decides to stand and escape the position.
Hussey and Buttler are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Hussey throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Buttler into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Hussey knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Denis Hussey!
