With a record of 42 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jurmas Uusisto!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Uusisto.
Uusisto moves out of range as DeVanzo strikes.
Uusisto pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
DeVanzo half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
DeVanzo staying out of range there.
A telegraphed right hand from Uusisto misses the target.
DeVanzo tries to score with a low kick but Uusisto moves his leg out of the way.
Uusisto is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Jurmas Uusisto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeVanzo motions for Uusisto to come forward. DeVanzo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
DeVanzo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Uusisto wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Uusisto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Uusisto looks to throw the jab but DeVanzo is out of range.
DeVanzo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Uusisto fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt DeVanzo.
DeVanzo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Uusisto.
A little jabbing left from Uusisto on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Uusisto throws a body shot but no joy.
Uusisto lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Uusisto throws a leg kick but DeVanzo sees it coming and moves out of range.

DeVanzo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Uusisto keeps working.
Uusisto is trying to control DeVanzo's posture but DeVanzo avoids it.
DeVanzo wants to control but Uusisto is keeping him busy.

DeVanzo throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Uusisto works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

and DeVanzo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Uusisto won't be happy with that.

Uusisto trying to control but DeVanzo flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Uusisto's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
DeVanzo controlling the position well here. Uusisto rolled but DeVanzo kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
DeVanzo lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by DeVanzo.

Uusisto is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
