Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Searlas Saucier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Park Sun! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saucier has Sun up against the ropes in a clinch.
Sun breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Saucier gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Saucier has Sun pushed against the ropes. Saucier takes an elbow to the temple. A nice right hand lands inside from Sun. Saucier prevents a body shot from Sun. A right hook to the body lands for Saucier.
Saucier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sun fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sun is looking to clinch. Saucier has Sun up against the ropes in a clinch.
Sun connects with a nasty looking knee right to Saucier's face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saucier breaks from the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saucier looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sun fails to land with a series of punches.
Sun clinches up against the ropes. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Saucier is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sun is keeping busy. Saucier breaks from the clinch.
Saucier clinches up with Sun and pushes him back against the ropes. Saucier breaks the clinch.
Sun wants to clinch up but Saucier keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saucier lands a nice looking body kick. Saucier clinches up against the ropes. Sun pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sun tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saucier swats him away and circles back towards the center. Saucier has managed to clinch.
Saucier fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Saucier could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Saucier prevents Sun from breaking the clinch. Sun lands a nice elbow from the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sun connects with a knee to the head.
Sun stalling in the clinch but Saucier improves position. Sun's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Saucier clinches up with Sun and pushes him back against the ropes. Saucier breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Searlas Saucier dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Saucier cracks Sun with a good jab.
It looks like Park Sun has been cut. Saucier looks low and kicks high, catching Sun right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it! Saucier throws a wild body kick that Sun sees coming a mile off. Saucier closes the distance and clinches. Saucier breaks the clinch.
Saucier scores with the left hand. Sun knows he should have avoided that one.
Sun is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Saucier instigates a clinch. Sun is still on wobbly legs! Can Saucier finish him? Sun is trying to force a seperation but Saucier has the dominant position. Saucier creates a bit of space and fires a knee right up the middle, almost lifting Sun off his feet and sending him crashing to the canvas! Sun is trying to get back to his feet but his equilibrium is completely gone! The referee has called it off! This fight is over! Saucier is jumping up and down like a mad man, celebrating with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Searlas Saucier!
