Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Crowe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Masa Mune! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crowe tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Mune counters with a nice double leg into side control. Crowe won't be happy with that. Mune looks up at the clock and then as Crowe takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mune smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mune is looking to take a break and control but Crowe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Crowe takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Mune trying to control the action but Crowe is working from the bottom. Mune in side control, throwing shots but Crowe defends. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mune misses with the ground and pound. Mune wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crowe keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee asks Mune politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mune prefers to stall for the moment though. Mune scores with a couple of short elbows. Mune wants to control but Crowe is keeping him busy. Mune working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crowe dodges the ground and pound from Mune. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crowe wants to control but Mune postures up. The ground and pound from Mune seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Crowe controls the position for a moment. Mune controls the position from side control. Crowe can't do much from the bottom here. Mune throwing shots but missing, from side control. Crowe pushes Mune away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mune gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

There ya go! Crowe keeping full guard, as Mune tries to pass. Crowe keeping moving, preventing Mune from controlling successfully. Mune tries to free his leg and advance position but Crowe is retaining full guard. Mune throwing strikes from guard but Crowe blocks nicely.

and Mune makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Crowe throws a looping overhand right but Mune ducks down to avoid it. Crowe turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Crowe looks to land a right hand but Mune moved out of range. Crowe throws a leg kick but Mune moved away. Crowe ducks under a wild hook from Mune.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crowe misses with a low kick. Mune takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Crowe misses with a low kick. Mune throws a counter combo. Mune just misses with a punch to the body.
Crowe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Crowe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mune scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Good shot there by Mune. Crowe misses with a body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action! Mune throws a head kick that misses. Mune misses with a takedown attempt - Crowe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Crowe throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mune. Mune throws a half hearted mid kick. Crowe throws a shot to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Mune as he connects with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Masa Mune showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mune takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Mune tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crowe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Masa Mune is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mune content to control rather than advance. Crowe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Masa Mune has got the better of the ground game so far. Mune not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Crowe is trying to maintain the position but Mune is very close to passing his half guard. Mune looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Crowe trying to hold on to Mune's head to control him but Mune postures up.
Mune is looking to advance position but Crowe won't allow it. Mune has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Crowe trying to control from the bottom.
Mune is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Crowe! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mune wants to control the pace but Crowe is squirming around nicely. Mune putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
And that's the end of the fight! Masa Mune comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mune winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
