Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Uwe Kaputtski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Maia! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaputtski sprawls well. He's pushed Maia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kaputtski misses with a two punch combination.
Kaputtski misses with a jab, cross combination.
A jab-cross combination lands for Kaputtski and sends Maia crashing to the mat! Kaputtski follows him down to the mat - Maia regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
It looks like Anderson Maia has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kaputtski tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Maia. Maia actively working from the bottom here. Kaputtski controlling the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kaputtski trying to control the action but Maia is working from the bottom. Maia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia is refusing to be controlled, as Kaputtski sits in half guard. Maia is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Kaputtski pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Maia scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kaputtski keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Maia is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kaputtski has managed to free his arm - good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Uwe Kaputtski dominated that round. The cut man is working on Anderson Maia's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Maia on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Maia tries to clinch up. Kaputtski swings for the body but Maia moves out of range.
Danga de danga de dang - Kaputtski scores with a four punch combination! Uwe Kaputtski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maia shoots in but no luck this time. Uwe Kaputtski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maia ducks straight into an uppercut from Kaputtski and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Maia maanges to regain guard straight away.
Maia is rocked! Kaputtski sitting in guard, not really doing much. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kaputtski tries to stand but Maia is controlling from the bottom. Kaputtski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Maia throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kaputtski wants to stand but Maia has a closed guard, so he can't escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Uwe Kaputtski dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Anderson Maia's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice sprawl there from Kaputtski as Maia shoots in. Kaputtski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A combination from Kaputtski does no damage. Uwe Kaputtski is winning the standup battle so far. Kaputtski throws a series of punches but Maia avoids them all with ease. Maia tries for a takedown but Kaputtski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kaputtski misses with a hook. Kaputtski throws a series of punches but Maia avoids them all with ease. Kaputtski misses with a double jab.
Maia shoots in for a double leg but Kaputtski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Uwe Kaputtski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Maia. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maia is looking to clinch but Kaputtski is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kaputtski is trying to stand.
Maia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maia works his way into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kaputtski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Anderson Maia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kaputtski has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
