The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Assid gets a takedown into half guard.
Silva is holding on to half guard well.

Assid is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.
Assid trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom.
Assid is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Silva is holding on to half guard well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Assid is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva is not content to let Assid control the position.

Assid stands up out of the half guard.

Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Assid to the mat! Assid manages to get full guard.
Assid preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Assid is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Silva postures up and lands a big shot to Assid's brow.
Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Assid works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Silva wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Assid's closed guard. He's half up but Assid has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Assid pivots and extends the arm, Silva falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Assid! Well done that man!
