Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Xavien Stryker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nicky Herrera! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, William Gold and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stryker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Herrera shoots in and bounces Stryker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Herrera wants to control from the top but Stryker keeps moving. Stryker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Herrera passes Stryker's left leg - he's now in half guard. Stryker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Herrera on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Herrera winds up and cracks Stryker with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Stryker is looking for a sweep. Herrera is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stryker is staying active underneath Herrera, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stryker tries to get to full guard but Herrera has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Herrera is figuring out what he wants to do next. Stryker is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Herrera scores with a couple of nice shots. Stryker is trying to get back to full guard. Herrera is controlling the pace.
Stryker has hold of Herrera's hands but Herrera slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Stryker wants to control but Herrera is keeping busy.
Herrera prevents Stryker from improving his position. Herrera keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Stryker is not content to let Herrera control the position. Herrera moves into full mount! Stryker won't be happy about that! Stryker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Stryker is trying to stand. Herrera postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stryker looks a forlorn figure.
Stryker wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stryker tries to hold on but Herrera postures up. Herrera looking to control but Stryker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Herrera looking to finish Stryker with some ground and pound. This is bad for Stryker! Stryker working to try and regain half guard.
Stryker tries to buck Herrera off but he can't manage it. Stryker is in all sorts of trouble here.
Stryker is working hard here to advance position. Herrera forces the positional change into back control. Herrera is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Stryker taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Herrera.
