Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Orpheus Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donato Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donato Russo has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Orpheus Valentine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donato Russo! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Valentine looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Russo is fending him off so far but Valentine persists. Nope, Russo circles away and we're back to standing. Valentine wants to clinch. Valentine lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Valentine tries to clinch but Russo moves out of range. Valentine fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Russo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orpheus Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Russo misses with a kick to the body.
Russo throws a push kick but Valentine slaps the foot to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valentine jabbing away but nothing is landing. Russo looks to land a body kick but Valentine moved away. Valentine shoots in but Russo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Valentine avoids a kick to the body.
Russo dodges the punch combination from Valentine.
Russo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Russo lands a nice short elbow. Valentine pushes Russo off looking to stand but Russo dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine tries to get to full guard but Russo has control of the leg. Russo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Valentine wants to control but Russo passes into side.
Valentine is breathing heavily. Russo working the ground and pound. Russo avoids the strikes from the bottom by Valentine. Russo working away. Russo tries for a kimura but Valentine is defending well. Russo working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Russo happy to just control the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine tries to escape but Russo is in control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Russo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Russo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Russo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Valentine to his feet. Russo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Russo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Russo throws a front kick that sends Valentine stumbling back into the cage. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Russo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick from Russo. Valentine on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Russo. Russo obviously looking to wear him down.
Valentine takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Russo swats away the attempt to clinch by Valentine. Valentine tries to clinch but Russo is having none of it. Valentine shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Russo makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Valentine shoots in but no luck this time. Valentine has his takedown stuffed and Russo counters with a nice body kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Valentine crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Russo - the referee stops the clock and Valentine gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Russo. Valentine manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donato Russo dominated that round. That's time! Valentine's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Russo is looking to land body kicks. Russo tries to land a front kick but Valentine steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Valentine with a lazy takedown attempt and Russo counters with a good, hard body kick but Valentine shrugs it off. Valentine with a poor takedown and Russo counters with a body kick that stops Valentine in his tracks momentarily. Russo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Valentine looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Valentine tries to buck Russo off but Russo is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valentine manages to get back to half guard. Russo controlling the action here. Valentine wants to control the action here but instead Russo manages to pass to full mount!

Russo landing shots from mount. Russo lands a heavy elbow. Russo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Valentine tries to get back to half guard but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Valentine tries to improve his position but instead Russo has taken his back! Valentine turns into Russo and is now in his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Valentine blocks the body kick.

Russo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Russo tries to land a front kick but Valentine steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Valentine sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine with a poor takedown and Russo counters with a good, hard body kick but Valentine shrugs it off. Valentine tries for a takedown but Russo circles away easily and Russo makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Valentine really felt that one! Valentine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Russo. Valentine tries to clinch but Russo moves out of range. Valentine misses with a takedown and Russo counters with a nice body kick. Orpheus Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Russo connects with a solid leg kick. Valentine will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Valentine shoots and misses and Russo finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Russo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Russo is looking to land body kicks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Russo cracks the inside of Valentine's front leg. Valentine tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Russo counters with a nice low kick that buckles Valentine's knee momentarily. Russo bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Valentine doesn't succeed with the takedown and Russo counters with a single leg into guard. Valentine didn't expect that. This has been an exciting period of action! Russo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valentine is keeping the position for now. Valentine has Russo pulled in close to control his posture. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Valentine is trying to control the position but Russo postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donato Russo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Orpheus Valentine. Valentine looks to clinch and Russo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Valentine's guard now. Russo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Valentine looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Russo passes into half guard.
Valentine won't allow Russo to pass to mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Russo is thwarting Valentine's attempts to control the position. Russo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Valentine!
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Valentine doesn't succeed with the takedown and Russo counters with a nice leg kick. Russo misses with a body kick. Valentine swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Russo looks to land a body kick but Valentine moved away. Russo misses with a body kick. Valentine tries to clinch there but Russo circles away.
Valentine shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Russo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valentine's guard. Valentine looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Valentine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Valentine tries to land a sweep but no joy. Valentine is trying to keep Russo in close.
Valentine working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Russo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Russo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Russo content to stall in guard here.

Valentine is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Valentine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Valentine has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Russo. Both fighters circling a little - Russo finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Valentine shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Valentine was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Valentine wants to control the pace but Russo is squirming around nicely. Russo is wriggling around trying to escape.
BOOM! Valentine connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valentine avoids the attempt from Russo to control. Valentine swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Russo is now in Valentine's guard. A big mistake from Valentine there, giving up the dominant position! Valentine looking for a guillotine here but Russo defends easily.

Orpheus Valentine has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Donato Russo has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Valentine is trying to maintain the position but Russo is very close to passing his half guard. Valentine is staying active underneath Russo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Valentine is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Russo pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Donato Russo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Russo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
