Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Dobbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Dobbins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Dobbins!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with the takedown.
Jones tries to clinch up.
Dobbins connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.
Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Dobbins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

Dobbins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dobbins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones has a hand on Dobbins's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Dobbins takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Jones tries to reverse the position but Dobbins maintains control.

Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.
Dobbins tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones controls Dobbins momentarily but Dobbins frees himself.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dobbins manages to get himself to full guard.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dobbins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jones passes Dobbins's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dobbins wants to get back to full guard.
Jones wants to take a breather but Dobbins is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dobbins counters with an inside leg kick.

Dobbins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jones is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Dobbins pulls his head out easily.
Jones is staying active underneath Dobbins, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dobbins escapes and gets back to his feet.
Dobbins throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Dobbins looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Dobbins avoids the attempt from Jones to control.
Jones is looking to improve his position but Dobbins isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A bone on bone clash there as Jones blocks the leg kick.
Jones clinches but Dobbins breaks the clinch

and Dobbins counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.

Dobbins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dobbins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Tom Dobbins has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jones tries to break the clinch but Dobbins is controlling the position.
Jones tries to pull guard but Dobbins holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.

Jones wants to stand but Dobbins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Dobbins wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Dobbins has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.

Dobbins working for submissions but it's allowed Jones to get to half guard.
Jones moves nicely into side control.
Dobbins is trying to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Dobbins gets back to half guard.
Dobbins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.

Jones is working for a submission of some sort.
Dobbins is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Jones will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jones wants to control but Dobbins is keeping him busy.
Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Dobbins takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Dobbins controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Dobbins keeps moving and retains side control.

Jones pushes Dobbins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dobbins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jones wants to control but Dobbins is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Jones is trying to control the position but Dobbins postures up.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dobbins's guard.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

James Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
