The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. LADnar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Goodman tries for a kimura but LADnar is defending well.
Goodman postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
LADnar is looking for a sweep.
LADnar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
LADnar is looking for a sweep. Goodman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Goodman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, LADnar has managed to free his arm - good work.
LADnar tries to roll over but Goodman keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goodman wants to work for an arm triangle but LADnar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Goodman is looking for a kimura but LADnar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goodman to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Goodman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Goodman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
LADnar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goodman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Goodman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so LADnar is just riding it out for now. Goodman eventually gives up the hold.
Goodman postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for LADnar to stand up.
Nice sprawl there from LADnar as Goodman shoots in.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Goodman enables LADnar to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Goodman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
LADnar looking to sit in guard and control but Goodman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Goodman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on LADnar, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
LADnar pushes Goodman up against the cage in a clinch.
LADnar manages to break the clinch.
LADnar rushes Goodman and presses him up against the cage.
LADnar trying to control the position but instead, Goodman has worked for underhooks and has pushed LADnar into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Goodman has had enough of the clinch but LADnar keeps him there for the moment.
Goodman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed LADnar clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Goodman gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
LADnar can't escape the position.
Goodman has both hooks in and is working for a choke. LADnar is in real trouble here. Goodman gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, LADnar is tapping out! Goodman wins by rear naked choke!
