Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Munchack moves away.
Tyson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Munchack counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Munchack.
Tyson wants to get back to his feet but Munchack passes into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munchack keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Tyson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Munchack seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tyson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Munchack not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Munchack is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tyson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tyson is looking to escape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tyson is trying to stand.
Munchack landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Tyson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Munchack.

Munchack seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tyson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tyson is trying to stand.
Munchack stalling.
Munchack stops Tyson from getting back to his feet.
Munchack slips a nice elbow through Tyson's hands, connecting with Tyson's forehead.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tyson wants to stand back up but Munchack manages to pass into side control.

Munchack is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tyson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Tyson has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Tyson throws Munchack to one side and escapes!

and Munchack counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tyson won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Munchack seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tyson for as long as he can get away with.

Munchack is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tyson has escaped the position, nice work there.

Munchack jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tyson manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Tyson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Munchack asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Tyson wants to get back to his feet but Munchack drags him back down.

Munchack has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tyson!

Munchack working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Tyson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Munchack! Submission of the night perhaps?

Franklin Munchack was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
