Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Watson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kami Kazi! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson avoids the head kick by Kazi.
Kazi throws a head kick but Watson moves out of range.
Kazi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kazi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Watson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Watson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Watson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kazi throws a head kick that Watson semi-blocks.
Kazi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kazi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Watson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kazi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Watson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Watson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kazi looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson is stalling in the full guard. Watson connects with a couple of short punches. Watson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Watson seems to have locked his on tight now - Kazi screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Watson, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). John Watson! John Watson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
