Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jiri Necas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Hofmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiri Necas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Todd Hofmann! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Necas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Necas is looking to advance position but Hofmann won't allow it. Necas seems to be working for a kimura but Hofmann defends the submission attempt. Necas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hofmann has hold of Necas's hands but Necas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Necas trying to control from half guard but Hofmann is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hofmann is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hofmann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Necas wants to control but Hofmann is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Necas wants to stand up but Hofmann manages to regain full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Hofmann trying to control the position.
Necas pushing down on Hofmann's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The fighters are battling for position here. Hofmann manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Necas's corner is telling him to maintain position. Necas being controlled here momentarily. Necas trying to control the position from guard on top but Hofmann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hofmann not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Necas shoots and misses and Hofmann counters with a lovely straight right hand! Necas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hofmann swivels and escapes. Necas throws a series of punches but Hofmann moves out of range. Hofmann is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Hofmann gets a double leg takedown into Necas's guard. Hofmann looking to pass the guard. Necas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hofmann controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Necas wants to sweep here but Hofmann controlling him for the moment. Hofmann tries to free his leg and advance position but Necas is retaining full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Hofmann looking to sit in guard and control but Necas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hofmann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hofmann can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Necas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hofmann is proving hard to escape from. Necas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hofmann is trying to keep Necas in close.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hofmann not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jiri Necas will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hofmann tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Necas swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Hofmann takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Necas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hofmann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Necas somewhat. Necas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Necas wanted to stand there but Hofmann had control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hofmann punching to the body, from the bottom. Necas is looking to stand up but Hofmann won't let him. Hofmann keeping moving, preventing Necas from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Necas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Necas postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Necas throws a front kick aimed at Hofmann's knee but Hofmann avoids it well. Necas thows a left - swing and a miss! Necas doesn't manage to clinch there - Hofmann circles away.
Necas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Still in half guard, Necas seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Necas wants to free his trapped foot but Hofmann is holding on for dear life with his legs. Necas thows a huge punch but Hofmann dodges it nicely.
Necas is thwarting Hofmann's attempts to control the position. Hofmann is not content to let Necas control the position. Necas throwing shots but Hofmann is blocking nicely. Hofmann manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Necas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Necas stands and throws Hofmann's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hofmann tries to get back to half guard but can't. A control attempt from Hofmann but he's now mounted! Hofmann wants to control but Necas is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Necas wants to control the pace but Hofmann is squirming around nicely. Necas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hofmann can do to turn this around? Hofmann tries to hold on but Necas postures up. Hofmann's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Necas tries to control but Hofmann wriggling away. Necas wants to get back to his feet but Hofmann is holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jiri Necas dominated that second round. That's time! Necas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Hofmann throws a right hand that Necas ducks under and follows up with a left that Necas also avoids with ease. Necas dives in and scores a takedown into Hofmann's guard. Necas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Necas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hofmann is proving hard to escape from. Necas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hofmann looking to control.

Necas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Hofmann gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hofmann manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hofmann is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hofmann is looking for a triangle but Necas pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Necas throws an elbow that misses. Hofmann uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Necas's guard. Nice move by Hofmann! Necas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Necas trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Necas is pulling down on Hofmann's head. It's preventing any offense from Hofmann, at least for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Necas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hofmann has closed the distance and engaged Necas in a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Necas drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hofmann pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hofmann tries a head kick but it misses.

Necas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hofmann was covering up waiting for the punch and Necas finishes the takedown easily into guard. Necas won't allow Hofmann to get back to his feet. Todd Hofmann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jiri Necas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hofmann had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Necas defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Todd Hofmann comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Necas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
