Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Cirkunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cirkunov has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Alex Cirkunov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Bravo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Cirkunov! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cirkunov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bravo shoots for a double leg takedown but Cirkunov sprawls well. He's pushed Bravo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bravo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cirkunov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bravo is in Cirkunov's guard. Bravo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cirkunov wants to stand but Bravo is controlling the position. Bravo forces his way into half guard. Bravo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cirkunov pushes Bravo off looking to stand but Bravo dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bravo seems to be looking for submissions.
Bravo seems to be working for a kimura but Cirkunov defends the submission attempt. Cirkunov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cirkunov tries to kick Bravo off but Bravo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bravo is looking for a kimura here.

Bravo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cirkunov is looking to escape. Bravo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Bravo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cirkunov has managed to free his arm - good work. Bravo moves nicely into side control. Bravo prevents Cirkunov from escaping the position. Bravo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Cirkunov is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Bravo yanks on the arm and Cirkunov is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Bravo.
