Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Machan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nathan Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Richard Machan! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz cracks Machan with a right hand to the side of the head. Machan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Diaz is trying to get back to half guard. Diaz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Machan has just dragged him back down to the mat. Machan controls the position from side control. Diaz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Diaz manages to get back to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Machan lands a nice short elbow. Machan prevents Diaz from improving his position. Machan working the head and body with strikes. Machan drops an elbow to the side of Diaz's head. Diaz trying to control but Machan postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Machan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Diaz is looking to control Machan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted? Diaz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Machan pulls his head out easily. Machan is taking a breather. Diaz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Machan scores with a big shot! Diaz's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Diaz! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Machan! Our winner, Richard Machan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
