A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado misses with a double jab.
Markos fails with an attempt to clinch.
A left and a right from Machado both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Costa Markos has been cut.

Markos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Markos lands in his opponent's guard.

Machado manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Machado shoots and misses

and Markos holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Markos.

Machado ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Machado no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Markos is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Machado has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Markos is looking to defend but Machado has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Markos! Machado pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Markos taps out and this one is all over!

After the fight, Luis Machado was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
