Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Quagmire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ric Flair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flair is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bang Your Head. Ric Flair has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Glen Quagmire's chin.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ric Flair! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quagmire avoids the body shot from Flair.
Quagmire doesn't manage to clinch there - Flair circles away.

Quagmire throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Flair. Flair takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Quagmire lands with a nice body punch. Flair gets caught flat footed, as Quagmire shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Quagmire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Quagmire slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Quagmire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Quagmire postures up in Flair's guard and throws a big left but Flair blocks it. Flair wants to stand up but Quagmire is controlling him. Flair keeping moving, preventing Quagmire from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Quagmire fails with an attempt to clinch.

Flair looks to land a right hand but Quagmire moved out of range. Quagmire fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Flair tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Quagmire paws at him with a jab and circles away. Quagmire feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Flair keeping moving, preventing Quagmire from controlling successfully. Quagmire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flair seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Quagmire drops back looking for a leg! Flair is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Flair manages to kick Quagmire off! Quagmire jumps back into Flair's guard. Quagmire trying to control but Flair is working from the bottom. Quagmire stands up over Flair, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Quagmire wants to pass the guard but Flair is keeping the position. Flair wants to sweep but no luck. Flair working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Quagmire. Quagmire throwing strikes but missing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Flair slips a straight right by Quagmire. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flair uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Quagmire has time to react.

Flair throws a jab but it's blocked by Quagmire. A combination from Flair does no damage. Quagmire scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Quagmire thows a body shot but no joy. Quagmire lands a two punch combo.
Quagmire uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Flair. Quagmire moves away from the strike by Flair. A left and a right from Quagmire both land. Nice combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Flair throws a jab when Quagmire was well out of range. Flair thuds his right hand into Quagmire's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Nice cross by Quagmire. A slow jab from Flair misses its intended target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quagmire decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Flair avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Quagmire. Flair rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Quagmire moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Some wild striking there from Flair.
Quagmire shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Quagmire was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Quagmire sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Quagmire swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Flair is now in Quagmire's guard. A big mistake from Quagmire there, giving up the dominant position! Quagmire looking to hit a scissor sweep but Flair is one step ahead there. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quagmire thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quagmire controls Flair momentarily but Flair frees himself. Flair tries to stand but Quagmire is controlling from the bottom. Quagmire trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Quagmire will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Flair is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Flair takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Flair throws a head punch that misses.
