Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Gerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerson comes to the cage accompanied by RAP JIU-JITSU. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Gerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Grant Morrison! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gerson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Morrison has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Morrison swings widly with a right hand
and Gerson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gerson. Gerson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Morrison misses with a two punch combination.
Gerson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Gerson has his takedown stuffed and Gerson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A slow jab from Morrison misses its intended target. Gerson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Morrison scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Morrison missing with a left hand there. Gerson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gerson shoots in but Morrison avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gerson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Netherlands Top Team & KT in the buildup to the fight. Morrison pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Grant Morrison is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gerson is defended easily by Morrison. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Gerson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morrison lands with a shot to the body. Gerson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Morrison.
Morrison misses with a right hand and Gerson counters with a nice uppercut. Morrison takes a swing at Gerson's ribcage but misses. Morrison throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gerson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morrison misses the jab. Gerson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Morrison. Morrison throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Morrison's corner calls for a 1-2. Morrison obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Gerson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Morrison. Morrison misses with a double jab.
A little feinted left hand from Gerson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Gerson shoots in looking for a takedown. Morrison tries to sprawl out of it but Gerson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morrison manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gerson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Morrison defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morrison thuds his right hand into Gerson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A left lands for Morrison. Morrison is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gerson. Morrison gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gerson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Morrison wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gerson manages to pass to side control. Morrison trying to hold on to Gerson's head to control him but Gerson postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gerson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Morrison has managed to free his arm - good work. Morrison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gerson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Morrison is defending against the submission attempts here by Gerson.
Gerson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Gerson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Morrison's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Morrison wants to sweep here but Gerson controlling him for the moment. Morrison is pulling down on Gerson's head. It's preventing any offense from Gerson, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grant Morrison dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Gerson shoots in for a takedown but Morrison shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Morrison misses with a jab, cross combination.
Morrison misses with a straight left. Gerson appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gerson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ricardo Gerson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Morrison wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gerson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Morrison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gerson is working for a kimura but Morrison is defending it quite comfortably.
Morrison is looking for a sweep. Gerson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Morrison makes his way to full guard, as Gerson worked for a kimura.
Gerson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Morrison pulls Gerson in close to his closed guard and prevents Gerson from doing any damage or advancing position. Gerson wants to pass the guard but Morrison is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Morrison pulls Gerson in close to prevent any damage. Morrison is continuing to stall. Gerson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gerson trying to control but Morrison is working from the bottom. Gerson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Morrison manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gerson manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morrison trying to control the position from guard on top but Gerson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gerson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gerson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Morrison escapes and throws Gerson's legs to the side, diving into side control! Morrison working away. Morrison trying to control the position but Gerson is working away. Gerson tries to control but Morrison manages to take his back. Morrison has good solid back control here. Let's hope that Morrison has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Morrison really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Gerson. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! You can see the frustration on Gerson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's one minute gone in the round. Morrison gets full guard. Gerson looking to pass the guard. Gerson wants to control from the top but Morrison keeps moving. Gerson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Morrison looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Morrison looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Morrison! Gerson is pushing Morrison's head away, looking to escape. Morrison manages to hold on to the position though. Morrison has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Morrison remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Morrison wants to stand but Gerson is controlling his arm.

Morrison controlling the position from side mount. Morrison avoids the strikes from the bottom by Gerson. Morrison tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Gerson sneaks back into half guard.

Morrison seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Gerson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Morrison in particular looking to stall. Gerson wants to control but Morrison is keeping busy and won't allow it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Gerson is trying to stand.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Grant Morrison is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Morrison throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Gerson tried to score with a low kick but Morrison checks it. The fighters circling - Morrison throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gerson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Morrison misses with a wild combination.
Gerson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Morrison. Gerson slips a jab from Morrison. As Morrison tries to get set, Gerson tries to push him back and clinch up but Morrison manages to avoid the attempt. Morrison swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gerson dives in and grabs Morrison's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morrison pushes down on Gerson's head and hops out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gerson ducks under a wild hook from Morrison. Ricardo Gerson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gerson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Morrison sprawls well. Morrison wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gerson gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Grant Morrison comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Morrison winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
