Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Power Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dempsey Rekoj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Power Ortiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dempsey Rekoj! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortiz fails with a takedown attempt. Rekoj scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Ortiz works his way to full guard. Good work. Ortiz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rekoj slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rekoj wants to control from the top but Ortiz keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ortiz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Rekoj manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ortiz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ortiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rekoj swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ortiz won't allow Rekoj to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ortiz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ortiz stands up from Rekoj's guard - Ortiz perhaps looking for a knockout. Rekoj shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ortiz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rekoj has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Rekoj closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ortiz did well to prevent Rekoj getting side control. Rekoj tries to pass to full mount but Ortiz defends it. Ortiz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ortiz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Rekoj wants to control but Ortiz is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is pressing down on Rekoj's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ortiz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rekoj trying to control the position from guard on top but Ortiz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rekoj prevents Ortiz from getting back to his feet. Ortiz throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ortiz pulls Rekoj in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rekoj wants to pass the guard but Ortiz is keeping the position. Ortiz controlling Rekoj's posture. Ortiz keeping full guard, as Rekoj tries to pass. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ortiz trying to keep a closed guard but Rekoj is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Power Ortiz dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ortiz throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rekoj's head. Ortiz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rekoj can do to turn this around? Ortiz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rekoj's guard. Ortiz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Rekoj is looking to stand back up but Ortiz counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rekoj. Ortiz wants to free his trapped foot but Rekoj is holding on for dear life with his legs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rekoj is trying to stand.
Ortiz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rekoj keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz controlling the action here. Ortiz looks to land a strike but Rekoj avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Ortiz stays in close to Rekoj's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ortiz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rekoj paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rekoj follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Rekoj shoots in looking for a takedown. Ortiz tries to sprawl out of it but Rekoj keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ortiz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ortiz appears to be looking for a big counter. Ortiz stuffs the takedown. Ortiz has closed the distance and engaged Rekoj in a clinch.
Ortiz wants to take the fight to the mat but Rekoj manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Rekoj pulls guard successfully.
Ortiz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rekoj's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rekoj trying to get back to full guard but Ortiz takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Rekoj sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ortiz lands a nice short elbow. Ortiz stalling. Ortiz lands strikes from half guard. Rekoj is trying to maintain the position but Ortiz is very close to passing his half guard. Ortiz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rekoj is trying to stand.
Ortiz looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ortiz working over Rekoj with some ground and pound. Rekoj looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ortiz works his way into side control. Ortiz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rekoj taking a bit of punishment here - Ortiz scoring with strikes. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rekoj looking for a sweep but Ortiz has passed into full mount! Oh no! Rekoj is trying to reverse the position but instead Ortiz has taken his back - oops! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Power Ortiz dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Ortiz looks for a takedown but Rekoj sprawls well. Rekoj is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Ortiz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Power Ortiz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rekoj tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ortiz swivels and escapes. Ortiz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rekoj defends well and Ortiz ends up having to push Rekoj into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ortiz closes the distance and clinches up with Rekoj, looking for a takedown. Ortiz pushes Rekoj against the cage but Rekoj circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Power Ortiz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rekoj swings widly with a right hand
and Ortiz counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. A momentary lapse in concentration from Ortiz enables Rekoj to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ortiz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ortiz manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Ortiz obliges. Ortiz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rekoj smiles and moves away.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Ortiz enables Rekoj to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ortiz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ortiz wriggles free and stands up. Rekoj takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz scores with a head kick. Rekoj tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Ortiz throws a right and a left that Rekoj avoids nicely. Ortiz lands with a slapping head kick. No luck for Ortiz with that takedown attempt. Rekoj shoots in for a double leg but Ortiz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rekoj takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Ortiz fakes the leg kick and cracks Rekoj in the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rekoj stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rekoj wants it to stay on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Rekoj. No joy for Ortiz on that attempt. Ortiz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rekoj, pushing him back against the cage. Ortiz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ortiz tries to close the distance and clinch but Rekoj swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Some wild striking there from Ortiz.
Ortiz tries to keep at a distance but Rekoj has taken the fight into the clinch. Rekoj is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ortiz pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rekoj is looking to break free of the clinch but Ortiz has double underhooks. Rekoj tries to break free but Ortiz pushes him back against the cage. Ortiz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rekoj fails to land with a series of punches.
Ortiz throws a quick inside leg kick. Ortiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Ortiz advances to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ortiz content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortiz working Rekoj over with strikes. Ortiz works his foot free and advances to mount. Rekoj tries to hold on but Ortiz postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Power Ortiz showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ortiz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
