Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Gilliam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Kohle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valentin Gilliam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Kohle! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kohle dives in and scores a takedown into Gilliam's guard. Kohle is looking to pass into half guard but Gilliam pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Gilliam is in guard. Kohle wants to stand up but Gilliam is controlling him. Gilliam is looking to work some ground and pound but Kohle has wrist control. Gilliam preventing the sweep. Gilliam wants to stand but Kohle has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Gilliam in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gilliam slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gilliam is in close to Kohle's body, working some short punches and elbows. Gilliam really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kohle looking for a sweep. Not yet Kohle, not yet. Gilliam content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gilliam works over Kohle with some ground and pound from guard. Kohle wants to stand and escape but Gilliam is having none of it. Gilliam will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kohle throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Gilliam stands up over Kohle, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Gilliam cracks Kohle with a solid left hand. Gilliam throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gilliam throwing strikes but missing. Gilliam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kohle works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Gilliam postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gilliam won't allow Kohle to sweep him here. Gilliam working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kohle's head. Gilliam wants to stand but Kohle has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kohle wants to sweep but no luck. Gilliam is looking to work some ground and pound but Kohle has wrist control. Gilliam engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Jab from Kohle.

Kohle lands with a right to the head. Kohle wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Gilliam is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kohle gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Kohle missing with knees to the body.
Gilliam pulls guard effortlessly. Gilliam avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kohle postures up in Gilliam's guard and throws a big left but Gilliam blocks it. Kohle gets to his feet - Gilliam follows without any prompting.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gilliam tries for a takedown but Kohle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kohle manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gilliam on his heels. He'll look to pass Gilliam's guard now, I'm sure. Kohle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kohle slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kohle looking to sit in guard and control but Gilliam gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gilliam is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Kohle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gilliam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Valentin Gilliam will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kohle's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Gilliam jumps guard but Kohle stands there with Gilliam around his waist. Gilliam gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gilliam has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kohle down to the mat. Kohle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Valentin Gilliam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gilliam dives in and grabs Kohle's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kohle pushes down on Gilliam's head and hops out. Gilliam gets caught flat footed, as Kohle shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gilliam scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kohle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kohle tries to advance to mount but Gilliam denies him. Kohle looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gilliam throws Kohle to one side and escapes!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kohle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gilliam fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kohle lands a head shot. Gilliam forces Kohle back against the cage and clinches. Kohle manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kohle is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gilliam postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Kohle is trying to control the position but Gilliam postures up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gilliam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gilliam's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Valentin Gilliam overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gilliam working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gilliam is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kohle throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Gilliam has picked Kohle up and slammed him! Kohle can't keep hold of the triangle and Gilliam manages to pass to side control! Kohle is breathing heavily. Gilliam has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Gilliam tries to clinch up. Kohle moves into range and clinches up with Gilliam. Gilliam manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kohle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gilliam has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gilliam wants to get back to his feet but Kohle is dominant here and he's now got Gilliam's back! Kohle is looking for a choke. Gilliam gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Gilliam manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gilliam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kohle works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Valentin Gilliam will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Gilliam showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kohle wants to sweep but no luck. Kohle is still trying to improve position. Gilliam working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kohle working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Gilliam has passed into half guard!
Kohle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kohle trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gilliam working over Kohle with some ground and pound. Kohle looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gilliam is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Gilliam is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kohle is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gilliam scores with a couple of nice shots. Gilliam landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gilliam seems to be working for a kimura but Kohle defends the submission attempt. Kohle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gilliam controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gilliam not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gilliam is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kohle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gilliam is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gilliam in particular looking to stall. Gilliam moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Kohle. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kohle tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! Valentin Gilliam showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gilliam, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
