Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Diehl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Creed is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Diehl!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Victor Creed!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diehl misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Creed stuffs the takedown attempt from Diehl. Diehl gets slowly back to his feet.

Diehl gets the takedown into side control.

Diehl working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Creed is looking to regain half guard here but Diehl keeps moving and retains side control.
Creed is trying to control Diehl's posture but Diehl avoids it.
Creed is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Creed is looking to reverse the position.
Creed can't do much from the bottom here.
Creed is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Diehl off and has taken his back!

Creed is looking for a choke. Diehl gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Diehl manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Creed keeping moving, preventing Diehl from controlling successfully.
Creed utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Creed controls Diehl momentarily but Diehl frees himself.
Diehl stays in close to Creed's body and controls the position.
Diehl looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Creed looking for a sweep. Not yet Creed, not yet.

Creed looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Creed looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice takedown defense from Creed. No joy for Diehl on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronnie Diehl. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Diehl closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diehl is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Creed has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on Creed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Diehl trying to control the action but Creed is working from the bottom.
Creed manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Diehl lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Creed wants to get back to full guard.

Creed works his way to full guard. Good work.
Diehl working some strikes from top position.

Creed had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Diehl is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Creed Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Diehl's back instead.

Creed has good solid back control here.
Diehl trying to control the hands but Creed won't let him.
Creed scores with punches from the back.
Diehl prevents Creed from getting a body triangle.

Creed is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Diehl has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Creed trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Creed working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Diehl manages to reverse the position and now he's in Creed's guard. Nice work there by Diehl.
Creed wants to sweep but no luck.

Creed is looking for a triangle but Diehl pushes his legs off easily.

Creed looking for a guillotine here but Diehl defends easily.
Diehl stays in close to Creed's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Creed dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Creed closes the distance and clinches up with Diehl, looking for a takedown. Creed pushes Diehl against the cage but Diehl circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Creed gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Creed tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Diehl trying to control the position from guard on top but Creed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Diehl tries to free his leg and advance position but Creed is retaining full guard.
Diehl passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Creed is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Diehl's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Creed is in trouble now - Diehl has advanced to mount!
Diehl can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Creed is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Diehl is landing with some decent strikes but Creed is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Creed is squirming around, avoiding Diehl's attempts to control the action.

Diehl is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Creed has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Creed reaches up and holds on to Diehl to control the position.
Diehl landing strikes from the mount.
Diehl can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Creed is looking to escape.
Diehl pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Creed is rocked!
Diehl lands with some strikes.
Creed is still in real trouble! Can Diehl finish him?

Diehl has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Creed is forced to tap!
