Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Ray Kshymensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Ray Kshymensky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Thomas! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kshymensky misses with an uppercut. Thomas saw that one coming. Kshymensky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kshymensky controlling from the full mount. Thomas wants to control but Kshymensky is having none of it. Kshymensky looking to control and managing it successfully. Thomas is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kshymensky could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kshymensky controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas tries to lock up and control but Kshymensky gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kshymensky wants to control the pace but Thomas is squirming around nicely. Kshymensky tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kshymensky in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Kshymensky breaks from Thomas's wrist control and lands an elbow. Thomas wants to try and get back to his feet. Thomas is in a horrible position here. Kshymensky smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Thomas is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kshymensky is working for a guillotine from mount but Thomas frees his head quite easily.
Thomas throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Kshymensky wants to control the pace but Thomas is squirming around nicely. Kshymensky is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Thomas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kshymensky is landing with some decent strikes but Thomas is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kshymensky postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Thomas looks a forlorn figure.

Kshymensky looking to control but Thomas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kshymensky landing strikes from the mount and Thomas is in trouble! Thomas tries to hold on but Kshymensky postures up. Thomas looks gassed! Kshymensky content just to control the position here. Thomas wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kshymensky controlling from the full mount. Kshymensky gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Kshymensky looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kshymensky is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kshymensky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thomas pulls Kshymensky in to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kshymensky tries for a takedown but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Thomas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kshymensky to the mat! Kshymensky manages to get full guard. Kshymensky throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Thomas is looking to stand up but Kshymensky won't let him. Thomas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kshymensky, up you get! Kshymensky has a takedown stuffed. Kshymensky tries to clinch but Thomas moves out of range. Thomas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kshymensky, pushing him back against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Thomas turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Thomas manages to end up in side control. Kshymensky manages to work his way to half guard, despite Thomas's best efforts. Thomas trying to control from half guard but Kshymensky is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kshymensky moves into full guard.
Kshymensky wants to sweep but no luck. Thomas wants to control from the top but Kshymensky keeps moving. Kshymensky throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kshymensky tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kshymensky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kshymensky off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Ray Kshymensky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thomas feints and as Kshymensky raises his hands in defense, Thomas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Thomas looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jesse Ray Kshymensky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kshymensky is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Thomas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kshymensky thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kshymensky is on top in guard.
Thomas keeping full guard, as Kshymensky tries to pass. Thomas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kshymensky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thomas is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Thomas is working an open guard so Kshymensky takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Kshymensky moves in looking to clinch but Thomas pushes him off. Kshymensky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kshymensky off to one side. Thomas takes the fight into the clinch. Thomas drags the fight down to the ground.

David Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Kshymensky fails with the takedown. Thomas doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kshymensky counters with a three punch combo that has Thomas backing up. Thomas nods at Kshymensky to acknowledge the strikes. Kshymensky moves into range and clinches up with Thomas. Kshymensky drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thomas pulls guard. Thomas keeping moving, preventing Kshymensky from controlling successfully. Thomas working for a triangle but Kshymensky defends it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas pushes Kshymensky off and gets back to his feet.
Kshymensky shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kshymensky showed some decent athleticism there. Thomas works his way to full guard. Good work. Kshymensky gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Thomas working some nice short punches in the clinch. Kshymensky using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Thomas has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Thomas can't get the takedown.
Kshymensky fails to pull guard.
Kshymensky jumps guard but Thomas stands there with Kshymensky around his waist. Kshymensky gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Thomas on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Thomas prevents Kshymensky from breaking the clinch. Thomas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kshymensky scores with a takedown into Thomas's guard. Thomas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Thomas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jesse Ray Kshymensky. I think Kshymensky has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
