Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Terry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Schalk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Schalk! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smith is breathing heavily. Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Schalk tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schalk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Schalk gets a takedown into half guard. Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schalk on the ground. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Schalk stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Schalk lands a nice looking body shot.
Schalk scores a takedown into full mount! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schalk controlling the pace for now. Schalk pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schalk with a couple of short strikes. Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position. BOOM! Schalk connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Schalk content just to control the position here. Let's hope that Schalk has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schalk wants to finish this one by submission but Smith is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Schalk. Schalk content just to control the position here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Travis Schalk just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schalk moves into range and clinches up with Smith.

Schalk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schalk showed some decent athleticism there. Schalk wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it. Schalk decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Schalk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Good exchange - Schalk coming out on top. Schalk catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Schalk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Schalk gets a clinch. Schalk goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Schalk counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Schalk. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Schalk advances position into side control! Smith takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Schalk happy to just control the position for now. Schalk gets to mount! Smith was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Schalk working for a submission but Smith is keeping him at bay. Smith tries to hold on but Schalk pushes him away. Schalk looking to control and managing it successfully. Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.

Smith is squirming around, avoiding Schalk's attempts to control the action. Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Schalk controlling from the full mount. Schalk looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Schalk might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. A slapping body kick lands there for Schalk. Schalk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Schalk has hold of Smith's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Smith manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Schalk has a good base and remains in mount. Schalk fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Schalk tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Smith tries to reverse the position but Schalk maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Travis Schalk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Schalk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side. Smith misses with a takedown and Schalk counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. Schalk passes Smith's left leg - he's now in half guard. Schalk is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Schalk in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Schalk is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Smith is surviving well by controlling Schalk's body position as best he can. Schalk manages to capitalize on a mistake by Smith to take his back! Smith just trying to survive but Schalk is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Schalk lands a shot to the body. Smith tries to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Schalk controlling from the back. Smith tries to escape but Schalk has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Smith breaks Schalk's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Smith wants to control from the top but Schalk keeps moving. Smith thows a big elbow that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Smith moves into the clinch successfully.
Schalk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schalk shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Schalk trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Schalk postures up.
Schalk is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Smith is striking from the bottom but Schalk uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Terry Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Travis Schalk is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Schalk stalling.
And that's the end of the fight! Travis Schalk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schalk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
