Moir gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Jackson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Moir wants to stand but Jackson is controlling the position. Moir looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there. Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. Jackson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Moir sprawls well initially but Jackson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Moir is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Moir trying to control here.
Moir slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Moir looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there. Jackson pushes down on Moir's leg and manages to get into half guard. Brian Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moir with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jackson connects with a nice short shot to Moir's temple. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Moir is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back!
Jackson manages to stand up with Moir still on his back. Eventually Moir drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Moir shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jackson has his takedown stuffed and Moir counters with a lovely straight right hand! A left and a right from Jackson both land. Nice combination. Moir moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off. Moir fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jackson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Moir closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Moir lands in his opponent's guard. Moir won't allow Jackson to sweep him here. Moir passes Jackson's left leg - he's now in half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Moir is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Moir sits in half guard. Moir blocks the strikes from Jackson.
Moir seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Moir lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position. Jackson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jackson. and Jackson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Moir! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Moir is trying to stand. Moir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jackson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Moir has worked his arm free - good work by Moir!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brian Jackson. Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
