Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Chow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vic Chai Big Chop!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chow takes the fight into the clinch.
A body shot lands from Chow.
Chow crunches a lovely knee into Big Chop's ribcage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Chow - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Big Chop tries to score a body lock takedown but Chow shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Big Chop is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Chow is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Big Chop has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Chow avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Chow stands and throws Big Chop's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Chow has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Big Chop is looking to regain half guard here but Chow keeps moving and retains side control.

Chow seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Big Chop for as long as he can get away with.

Chow decides to stand back up. Chow steps back and let's Big Chop get back to his feet.

Chow rushes Big Chop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Chow is pressed up against the cage. Big Chop has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chow down to the mat. Chow avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

I was talking to Chow's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Chow is leaning against Big Chop and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Chow presses Big Chop against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
We've been informed that Big Chop has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Chow swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Chow digs a right hand into Big Chop's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Big Chop's gas tank.

Chow has picked Big Chop up - he's going for a ride! Chow dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Chow is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Chow's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kim Chow overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Big Chop is trying to escape the mount but Chow keeps good control and instead manages to take Big Chop's back.
Chow is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Big Chop can do to turn this around?

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Chow is stinking the place up with his stalling.
