Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Monroe Melton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wesley Par!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Par fails with an attempt to clinch.
Par avoids the body shot from Melton.
Par has his takedown stuffed
and Melton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Par fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Melton avoids it really well and circles away.
A quick step to the side and Melton tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Melton lands a jab to the nose.
Par shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Melton as he jumps to the side.
Monroe Melton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wesley Par.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Par fails with the takedown
and Melton counters with a right hand to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Par or perhaps it was just good defense by Melton, which made it look bad.

Par with a lazy takedown attempt
and Melton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wesley Par seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Par sprawls well. Par wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Melton gets slowly back to his feet.
And Par tries to counter it with a takedown but Melton pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Melton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Par was covering up waiting for the punch and Melton finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Melton throws a strike but Par rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Melton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Par trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Par stopping the sweep attempt from Melton.
Melton is trying to keep Par in close.
Melton managing to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Par shoots in looking for a takedown. Melton tries to sprawl out of it but Par keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Melton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Par fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Par keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Melton stuffs the takedown attempt from Par. Par gets slowly back to his feet.
Melton swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Par throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Melton's waist but Melton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Par off to one side.
Par misses with a takedown
and Melton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Par looks winded!
Par misses with a head kick.
Par shoots in for a takedown but Melton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Melton.
Melton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Melton gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Par can't get the takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Par tries to break the clinch but Melton is controlling the position.
Melton manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Melton has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Par avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monroe Melton dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Par takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Melton closes the distance and clinches.
Melton misses with a punch to the body.

Par successfully pulls guard.
Melton throws a big elbow that misses.
Par has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Melton has passed into side control.

Melton goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Par rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Melton's guard! Nice work there by Par!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Melton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Par is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Par preventing the sweep.
Melton working a defensive guard but Par passes into half guard.
Melton trying to hold on to Par's head to control him but Par postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Par slows the pace down in half guard.
Par is keen to just control but Melton is a slippery customer.
Par is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Melton!
Melton prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Wesley Par has got the better of the ground game so far.
Par lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


It looks like Monroe Melton has been cut.
Par is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Melton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Par works his way to his opponent's back.

Par has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Melton is in real trouble here. Par gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Melton is tapping out! Par wins by rear naked choke!
