And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Alves!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Escobar!


It looks like Thiago Alves has been cut.
Alves looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Escobar.
Escobar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Alves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Alves decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Escobar stalks Alves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Alves's face. Alves staggers backwards, shaken.

Alves is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Escobar.

Alves walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Escobar lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Thiago Alves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Alves has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
