Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russell Lynn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Demolition Man Randy! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynn ducks under a wild hook from Randy. Lynn was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Lynn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Randy sees it coming and avoids it easily. Lynn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Randy throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Randy wants to improve his position but Lynn is controlling well.
Randy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lynn is working away from the top position though. Randy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Randy tries to get to full guard but Lynn has control of the leg. Lynn drops an elbow to the side of Randy's head. Lynn prevents Randy from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lynn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Randy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Randy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Randy taking some punishment here, with Lynn in his half guard. Lynn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Randy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lynn. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Randy trying to control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Randy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lynn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lynn's back! Randy is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Lynn taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Randy.
