Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like John Doe has been cut.
Doe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Knight pinned against the cage. Knight gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Doe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knight but Knight pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Knight takes the fight into the clinch.
Doe tries to score a body lock takedown but Knight shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mike Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Doe.

Knight is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Knight is trying to control the action in half guard but Doe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Knight stops Doe from getting back to his feet.
Knight wants to lay and pray for a moment but Doe keeps working.
Knight works his way into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doe managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Knight.
Doe stops Knight from passing to mount.
Doe is looking for a sweep.

Knight decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Doe tries for a takedown but Knight sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A quick step to the side and Knight tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Doe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Knight to the mat! Knight manages to get full guard.
Doe wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving.
Knight controls Doe momentarily but Doe frees himself.

Knight is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Doe throws a big right hand that misses.

Knight is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Knight is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Knight tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Doe swivels and escapes.

Doe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Knight avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Doe.
Doe working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Doe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Knight some visible discomfort.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Knight will probably get the nod.

Knight fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Doe avoids it really well and circles away.
Doe tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Doe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knight sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Doe somewhat.
Doe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Knight is fending him off so far but Doe persists. Nope, Knight circles away and we're back to standing.

Doe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Doe manages to end up in side control.

Knight tries to buck Doe off but Doe is having none of it.
Doe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Knight manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Doe is trying to control but can't.

Knight shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Doe dives in and grabs Knight's left leg, looking for a takedown. Knight pushes down on Doe's head and hops out.

Doe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Knight will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Doe sprawls well. Doe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Knight gets slowly back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Doe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Doe wanted to stand there but Knight had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
John Doe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Doe seems to be getting the better of the standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Knight tries to clinch up but Doe circles away and keeps his distance.

Doe fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Knight to the ground. Doe is now in Knight's guard.


Knight is rocked!

Oh Knight is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Doe scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Doe postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Knight covers up, he's hurt! Doe keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Doe and the ref steps in to end the fight! Doe can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Doe!
