Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Troy Resic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killer Kintal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kintal's choice of entrance music: slipknot - psychosocial. Troy Resic had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Killer Kintal acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Troy Resic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Killer Kintal! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kintal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Resic circles away. Resic shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kintal pinned against the cage. Kintal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kintal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Resic.
Kintal misses with the combination.
Kintal lands with an uppercut that bounces Resic off the cage and back into range. Resic fails with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kintal fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Resic is out of range. Resic is looking to counter with head kicks. Kintal throws a head kick but Resic moves out of range.
Resic feinted with a counter takedown. Kintal moves into the clinch. Kintal pulls Resic into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Resic stands and steps away. Kintal gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Resic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kintal but Kintal pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Resic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Resic avoids the head kick by Kintal.
Kintal gets a clinch. Resic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kintal dives in and grabs Resic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Resic pushes down on Kintal's head and hops out. Resic gets a clinch. Kintal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Resic just stands there and leans against the cage. Kintal can't get the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kintal stuffs the takedown attempt from Resic. Resic gets slowly back to his feet. Resic tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kintal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Resic somewhat. Resic is breathing heavily. No luck for Resic with that takedown attempt. Resic chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kintal can pounce on him.
Kintal shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Resic but Resic pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kintal throws a right hand that Resic ducks under and follows up with a left that Resic also avoids with ease. Resic slips a jab and a cross from Kintal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kintal moves into range and clinches up with Resic. Kintal breaks from the clinch.
Kintal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kintal wants it to stay on the feet. Kintal takes the fight into the clinch. Resic is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kintal pulls him back up using the underhooks. Kintal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kintal or perhaps it was just good defense by Resic, which made it look bad. Resic tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kintal manages to circle out of the way. Kintal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kintal closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kintal lands in his opponent's guard. Resic not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kintal gets to his feet. Resic looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! We've been told by Resic's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kintal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Resic, pushing him back against the cage. Resic is trying to break the clinch but Kintal is controlling him. Kintal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Resic smiles and moves away.
Kintal shoots in and drives through. Resic sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Resic tries to close the distance and clinch but Kintal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kintal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kintal drives through and clinches with Resic against the cage.
Resic keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kintal's efforts to push away. Resic tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kintal has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kintal throws a body kick that misses. Resic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Killer Kintal seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Kintal. Those never looked like landing. Resic is looking to land body kicks. Killer Kintal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kintal shoots in for a takedown but Resic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Resic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kintal's waist but Kintal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Resic off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Resic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kintal shoots in and drives through. Resic sprawls well. Resic was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Resic wants to clinch. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Resic. Kintal moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Kintal throws a low kick but Resic moves out of range easily. Resic tries to counter by clinching up but Kintal breaks away and moves out of range. Kintal fails miserably with a takedown attempt. No joy there for Kintal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Resic throws a sloppy head kick and Kintal moves out of range easily. Kintal steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Resic. Kintal throws a nice outside leg kick. Kintal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Resic connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kintal pushes Resic up against the cage in a clinch. Kintal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kintal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Resic circles away quickly and effectively. Kintal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Resic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Resic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kintal is fending him off so far but Resic persists. Nope, Kintal circles away and we're back to standing. Kintal shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Resic eats them both and turns towards Kintal to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Resic fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kintal to the ground. Resic is now in Kintal's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Resic wants to control from the top but Kintal keeps moving. Resic gets to his feet. Kintal looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Kintal misses with a double jab
and Resic counters with a single leg into guard. Kintal didn't expect that. Kintal manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kintal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kintal tries to clinch up. Kintal is looking to clinch but Resic is avoiding it.
Resic shoots for a takedown but Kintal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kintal fails with the takedown. Resic shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kintal clinches with his opponent.
Kintal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kintal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Resic moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Resic fails with an attempt to clinch.

Killer Kintal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Kintal throws out a counter right but Resic avoids it with no problem. Kintal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Resic is fending him off so far but Kintal persists. Nope, Resic circles away and we're back to standing. Resic clinches up with Kintal and pushes him back against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kintal creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Resic wants the takedown. Kintal is fighting it off but Resic persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kintal's guard against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kintal pushes Resic off and scrambles back to his feet.

Kintal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Resic shoots in looking for a takedown but Kintal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Resic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Resic dodges the punch combination from Kintal.
Resic half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Kintal fails in his attempt to clinch. Kintal throws a right hand that Resic ducks under and follows up with a left that Resic also avoids with ease. Resic is looking for a counter combo. Resic doesn't manage to clinch there - Kintal circles away.
As Resic backs off Kintal throws a huge counter combo but Resic manages to avoid it all. Resic gets caught flat footed, as Kintal shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Resic has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kintal off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
And that's the end of the fight! Troy Resic showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kintal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
