Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edmund Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marios Kaperoinis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Edmund Obrien has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Edmund Obrien seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edmund Obrien! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marios Kaperoinis! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaperoinis moves into range and clinches up with Obrien. Obrien breaks from the clinch.
Kaperoinis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Obrien back to the cage. Kaperoinis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Edmund Obrien has been cut. Kaperoinis shoots in but no luck this time. Kaperoinis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kaperoinis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Obrien gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Obrien drags the fight down to the ground.
Kaperoinis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Obrien has his feet on Kaperoinis's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Kaperoinis clinches with his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Obrien tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Obrien manages to pull guard.
Obrien throwing short punches from the bottom. Kaperoinis wants to control from the top but Obrien keeps moving. Obrien doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Obrien wants to stand but Kaperoinis is controlling the position. Obrien looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kaperoinis is one step ahead there. Obrien throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Obrien is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Obrien throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Kaperoinis is fighting to break Obrien's control of his arms but Obrien is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Obrien manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kaperoinis. Edmund Obrien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marios Kaperoinis. Kaperoinis lands with a nice combination. Obrien backs away looking to recover. Obrien instigates a clinch. Obrien ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Obrien no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Obrien bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kaperoinis's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kaperoinis can do anything to dispel that myth. Kaperoinis trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Obrien controlling from the top position. Kaperoinis wants to sweep here but Obrien controlling him for the moment. Obrien has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kaperoinis looks winded! Obrien is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Obrien is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kaperoinis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Obrien is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kaperoinis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Obrien has an Americana. Kaperoinis didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Obrien is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Obrien hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
