Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stan Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stan Patrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brendan Miles! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miles wants to clinch and Patrick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Patrick is figuring out what he wants to do next. Patrick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miles on the ground. Miles looks like he's trying to stand up.
Miles is trying to maintain the position but Patrick is very close to passing his half guard. Patrick is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Patrick prevents Miles from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miles has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Patrick is working away from the top position though. Patrick wants to stand but Miles has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patrick is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Miles trying to control here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Patrick tries to stand and escape but Miles is controlling the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Miles fails with a takedown attempt. A quick step to the side and Patrick tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miles. Patrick tries to counter with a takedown but Miles is quick to defend against it. Miles manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Patrick on his heels. He'll look to pass Patrick's guard now, I'm sure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patrick throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patrick working for a triangle but Miles defends it easily.

Miles trying to control the position from guard on top but Patrick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miles stays in close to Patrick's body and controls the position. Patrick is looking to stand back up but Miles counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Patrick. Miles looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Patrick is refusing to be controlled, as Miles sits in half guard. Miles is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Patrick defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Miles is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Let's hope that Miles has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patrick tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Miles manages to move to mount!

A close round but Brendan Miles will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Miles fails with a takedown attempt. Miles darts in and clinches Patrick up against the cage. Patrick has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Miles avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Patrick swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Miles is trying to pull guard but Patrick has him pressed against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miles is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Patrick to keep the fight standing. Stan Patrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Miles. Patrick working aggressively here.
Patrick jumps guard and drags Miles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Miles works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Patrick is trying to stand up here but Miles is controlling him well. Brendan Miles has got the better of the ground game so far. Patrick is staying active underneath Miles, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miles is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Patrick sees it coming and defends easily. Miles is figuring out what he wants to do next. Patrick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Miles.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Miles in particular looking to stall. Miles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Miles is looking for a kimura here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miles is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Miles seems to be looking for submissions.
Miles wants to stand up but Patrick is controlling the position.
Miles is pressing down on Patrick's thigh, looking to free his foot. Patrick is holding on for now.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Miles gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Miles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Miles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Miles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Patrick as he avoids it easily. Miles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Miles is breathing heavily. Patrick working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Miles has passed into half guard!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patrick wants to stand back up but Miles manages to pass into side control.

Brendan Miles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Patrick gets tackled into the cage by Miles. Miles maintains the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Miles is trying to force a seperation but Patrick has the dominant position. Patrick jumps guard and drags Miles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patrick keeping moving, preventing Miles from controlling successfully. Patrick has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Miles is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Patrick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patrick on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Patrick wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Patrick is looking to regain half guard here but Miles keeps moving and retains side control. Miles trying to control the action but Patrick is working from the bottom. Miles stands up and beckons Patrick to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Miles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Patrick is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Miles forces Patrick back against the cage and clinches. Patrick tries to pull guard but Miles holds him up against the cage and eventually Patrick drops back down to his feet.
Patrick is trying to drag Miles to the mat but Miles just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Miles decides to pull guard. Miles is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patrick wanted to stand there but Miles had control of the position. Miles not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Miles might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Patrick haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Patrick wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving. Patrick showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Miles looking to control.
Miles is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Stan Patrick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brendan Miles is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miles moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Patrick.
And that's the end of the fight! Brendan Miles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Miles winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
