Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Kovacs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davison comes into the arena with Not Today by Sevendust blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Davison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Walter Kovacs! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovacs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davison paws at him with a jab and circles away. A little feinted left hand from Davison on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kovacs has his takedown stuffed and Davison counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kovacs taking a breather. Davison gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kovacs.
Davison turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Davison manages to end up in side control. Kovacs is working to avoid the ground and pound but Davison connects with a decent elbow. Davison creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Davison creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Kovacs tries to bench press Davison off him but Davison keeps the position. Davison wants to control but Kovacs is keeping him busy. Kovacs is trying to control Davison's posture but Davison avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davison in side control lands a decent elbow. Kovacs gets back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davison takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kovacs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kovacs is looking to control Davison's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kovacs avoid being mounted? Davison is nestled in close to Kovacs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kovacs on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kovacs is rocked! Davison lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Kovacs! More strikes land and this one is all over! Davison jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Davison! After winning the bout, Chris Davison thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
