Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alan Donaldson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quach Minh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minh is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: beautiful life. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alan Donaldson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quach Minh! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A right-left combo lands from Donaldson. Donaldson tries a head kick but it misses.
Minh closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Donaldson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Minh prevents Donaldson from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Donaldson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Donaldson looking for submissions off his back. Donaldson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Minh pulls his head out easily. Donaldson wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donaldson is holding on to half guard well. Donaldson looking for submissions off his back. Donaldson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Minh stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Minh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Minh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Minh looks winded! Minh has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Minh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Donaldson's half guard. Donaldson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Donaldson tries to buck Minh off but he can't manage it. Donaldson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Donaldson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Donaldson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Donaldson is trying to stand.

A close round but Quach Minh will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Donaldson darts in trying to clinch and Minh counters with a one-two to the body. Minh has Donaldson up against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minh trying to control the position but instead, Donaldson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Minh into the cage. Minh is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donaldson lands a body punch in the clinch. Donaldson is trying to break free. Donaldson tries for a takedown but Minh manages to get underhooks.

Minh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Donaldson is looking to get back to is feet but Minh passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Minh stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Donaldson to get to his feet. Donaldson forces Minh back against the cage and clinches. Donaldson breaks the clinch.
Donaldson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Minh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Donaldson is looking for a counter combo. Donaldson really is a fat lump. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Donaldson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Minh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Donaldson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quach Minh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Donaldson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Donaldson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Minh is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Donaldson has Minh pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Minh manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Donaldson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Donaldson breaks from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Donaldson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Minh takes the fight into the clinch. Donaldson has a couple of punches blocked by Minh.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Donaldson lands a body punch in the clinch. Donaldson tries to score a body lock takedown but Minh shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Minh is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Donaldson is defending well for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donaldson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Minh feints and as Donaldson raises his hands in defense, Minh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Donaldson lands an upkick as Minh stands over him. Donaldson keeping moving, preventing Minh from controlling successfully. Donaldson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Quach Minh has got the better of the ground game so far. Minh trying to control but Donaldson is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donaldson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Donaldson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Minh escapes and throws Donaldson's legs to the side, diving into side control! Minh passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Donaldson! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Minh takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alan Donaldson. I think Minh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
