Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Touko Unikeko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hansen comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Big Gun. Unikeko comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gesaffelstein - Opr kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tim Hansen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Touko Unikeko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Touko Unikeko!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Unikeko forces Hansen back against the cage and clinches.
Unikeko content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Unikeko slows down the pace here.
Unikeko lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hansen backwards.
Hansen blocks an elbow strike.

Unikeko gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Unikeko lands with a punch from half guard.
Hansen is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Unikeko jumps into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hansen is not content to let Unikeko control the position.

Unikeko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hansen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Unikeko trying to control the position but Hansen is working away.
Hansen is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Unikeko sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hansen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hansen pushes Unikeko away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Unikeko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hansen tries a head kick but it misses.
Hansen sets himself, and Unikeko steps forward looking for the clinch! Hansen avoids it this time.

Hansen moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Unikeko goes down! Can Hansen finish him!?

It looks like Touko Unikeko has been cut.

Unikeko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hansen defends well.
Unikeko is still in real trouble! Can Hansen finish him?
Unikeko is looking to sweep but instead, Hansen has passed into half guard.
Unikeko seems to have recovered his senses.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Unikeko trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Unikeko might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hansen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hansen wants to take a breather but Unikeko is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hansen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Unikeko is looking for a sweep. Hansen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tim Hansen will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Unikeko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Unikeko tries to clinch up.

Unikeko has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hansen wants to get back to striking at distance but Unikeko won't allow it.
Hansen is working for takedown but Unikeko is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hansen wants to take the fight to the mat but Unikeko manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Unikeko throws a punch but it's blocked by Hansen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Unikeko is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hansen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Unikeko fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Unikeko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

As Unikeko looks to move away, Hansen throws a big counter combo but Unikeko just gets out of the way.
Hansen throws a head kick but Unikeko moves out of range.

Unikeko tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Hansen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Unikeko tries to counter with a clinch but Hansen shakes him off and moves away.
Unikeko lands a slapping body shot.

Unikeko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hansen looks to land a combination but Unikeko avoids it well.
Unikeko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A decent looking cross lands there for Unikeko.
Hansen throws a right and a left that Unikeko avoids nicely.
Unikeko tries to clinch but Hansen is having none of it.

Tim Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hansen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Unikeko is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hansen is pressed up against the cage. Unikeko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hansen down to the mat. Hansen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A right hook to the body lands for Unikeko.
Hansen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Unikeko prevents it.

Hansen misses with the combination.
Unikeko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hansen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hansen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Hansen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A punch combination from Hansen misses.
Tim Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hansen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Unikeko instigates a clinch.
Unikeko just leaning against Hansen, taking a breather.

Unikeko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Unikeko drives through and clinches with Hansen against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Hansen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hansen has Unikeko pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Unikeko manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Unikeko tightens his grip and picks Hansen up, before dumping him to the ground. Hansen manages to land in guard.
Hansen is looking to stand back up but Unikeko counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hansen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tim Hansen will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Unikeko tries to clinch but Hansen is having none of it.

Hansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Unikeko.

Hansen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Unikeko is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hansen to the mat. Hansen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Unikeko wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Unikeko postures up in Hansen's guard and throws a big left but Hansen blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hansen avoids a punch combination nicely.

Unikeko moves into range and clinches up with Hansen.
Hansen tries for a takedown but Unikeko manages to get underhooks.
Hansen is looking to break free of the clinch but Unikeko has double underhooks.
Unikeko gets underhooks to prevent Hansen's takedown attempt.

Unikeko turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Touko Unikeko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Touko Unikeko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
