Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Mundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Reaper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reaper has chosen Praise as his entrance music. Shane Reaper told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Shane Reaper!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mundy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Reaper is trying to stand.
BOOM! Mundy connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Reaper is squirming around, avoiding Mundy's attempts to control the action.
Reaper wants to control but Mundy is having none of it.
Mundy landing strikes, looking to finish!
Reaper tries to lock up and control but Mundy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Reaper defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mundy.
Reaper has given up his back.
Reaper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mundy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mundy is working the ground and pound. Can Reaper escape?
Reaper is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Mundy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reaper trying to control the action but Mundy just sinks the hooks in.

Mundy looking to break Reaper's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Reaper remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mundy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Mundy is looking to break free of the clinch but Reaper has double underhooks.

Mundy tries to pull guard but Reaper won't allow it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Reaper creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Reaper lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Reaper manages to break the clinch.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Reaper throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Reaper looks gassed!
Reaper is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Reaper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mundy, pushing him back against the cage.

Reaper prevents a takedown attempt there.
Reaper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mundy shoots in but Reaper avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Mundy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reaper throws a head kick but Mundy moves out of range.
Mundy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reaper as he jumps to the side.
Mundy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Reaper's guard.

Reaper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Ben Mundy will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mundy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reaper avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Reaper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mundy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reaper wants to stand but Mundy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Mundy has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Reaper doesn't defend quickly enough and Mundy has managed to lock this one up! Can Reaper escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mundy on a fantastic submission victory.
