Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Stevens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Krzysztof Kothciushco! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kothciushco gets tackled into the cage by Stevens. Stevens maintains the clinch. Stevens decides to pull guard. Kothciushco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stevens works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stevens is looking for a triangle but Kothciushco pushes his legs off easily.

Stevens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kothciushco. Kothciushco controls from within his opponent's guard. Kothciushco gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevens takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Krzysztof Kothciushco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stevens closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Stevens has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Sydney Fight Team in the buildup to the fight. Kothciushco takes the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens is trying to pull guard but Kothciushco turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Stevens tries to pull guard but Kothciushco holds him up against the cage and eventually Stevens drops back down to his feet.
Stevens is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kothciushco gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Stevens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kothciushco is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Kothciushco lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Stevens tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kothciushco misses with a hook from the clinch. Kothciushco lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Frank Stevens has been cut. A head punch on the inside from Kothciushco fails to land. Kothciushco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice body kick from Stevens. Kothciushco tests Stevens's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kothciushco lands a nice looking body kick. Kothciushco scores with a punch to the head. Stevens tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kothciushco defends well and Stevens ends up having to push Kothciushco into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Stevens fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kothciushco avoids it really well and circles away. This has been an exciting period of action! Kothciushco dips to his left and cracks Stevens with an uppercut!
Stevens is rocked! Stevens walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Kothciushco swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
