Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Delphino Atlantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atlantis comes to the cage accompanied by Refused - New Noise. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Delphino Atlantis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shinya Aoki !
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atlantis shoots for a takedown but Aoki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Aoki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Aoki on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Atlantis lands with a kick to the ribs.
Aoki lands a jab to the head.
Atlantis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Atlantis.
Aoki explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aoki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Atlantis was well out of range. Poor timing from Aoki .
Aoki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Atlantis throws a quick counter kick to the body but Aoki avoids it.
Aoki drives through with a takedown into Atlantis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Aoki gets tackled into the cage by Atlantis. Atlantis maintains the clinch.
Aoki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Atlantis smiles and moves away.
Delphino Atlantis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shinya Aoki .
Aoki avoids a punch combination nicely.
Aoki now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Atlantis moves into the clinch.
Aoki blocking some punches.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Atlantis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Aoki blocks it with crossed arms.
Atlantis breaks the clinch.
Aoki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Atlantis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Atlantis is looking to sweep but instead, Aoki has passed into half guard.
Atlantis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aoki is working away from the top position though.

Aoki is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Atlantis defends it well.
Atlantis wants to get back to full guard.
Atlantis actively working from the bottom here.
Aoki wants to pass to mount but Atlantis is defending the position.

Aoki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Atlantis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aoki .

Atlantis throws a nice head kick!

Atlantis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aoki sprawls well initially but Atlantis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Atlantis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aoki 's head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Aoki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Atlantis's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Atlantis wants to stand but Aoki has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Atlantis tries to free his leg and advance position but Aoki is retaining full guard.
Atlantis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Aoki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Atlantis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Atlantis stands up over Aoki , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Aoki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Atlantis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Atlantis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Aoki has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Delphino Atlantis is winning the standup battle so far.
The fighters circle momentarily. Atlantis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Aoki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Atlantis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aoki up against the cage.
Aoki blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Atlantis can't find room to land a body shot as Aoki controls the action.
Aoki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Atlantis walks away with a smile on his face. Aoki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Shinya Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Atlantis. Those never looked like landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Delphino Atlantis dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Aoki throws a chopping leg kick but Atlantis manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Atlantis scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A clash of legs there as Aoki blocks the low kick.
Atlantis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Atlantis's jab looks to have found its range, popping Aoki under the eye.
Aoki is rocked!
Atlantis drops Aoki with a naaaaasty hook - Aoki is in real trouble here! Atlantis dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
