Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henri Gunines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Islaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Henri Gunines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Islaw!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Islaw fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gunines avoids it really well and circles away.
Gunines stuffs the takedown.
Gunines throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Islaw lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Gunines rushes Islaw and presses him up against the cage.
Islaw stalling.
Islaw avoids a wild elbow strike from Gunines.
Come on Islaw - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Gunines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gunines gets caught flat footed, as Islaw shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gunines is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Islaw slips nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gunines is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Islaw pulls his head out easily.
Gunines is not content to let Islaw control the position.
Islaw stalling.
Gunines is refusing to be controlled, as Islaw sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Islaw throwing shots but Gunines is blocking nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Islaw trying to control the action but Gunines is working from the bottom.
Islaw passes to side control.
Gunines wants to control but Islaw postures up.

Islaw tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gunines knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Islaw on the ground.
Gunines tries to bench press Islaw off him but Islaw keeps the position.

Islaw decides to stand back up. Islaw steps back and let's Gunines get back to his feet.
Islaw tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gunines counters with a body kick that stops Islaw in his tracks momentarily.
Islaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Gunines sprawls well. He's pushed Islaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Henri Gunines has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Islaw.
Islaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gunines but Gunines pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Islaw manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Islaw tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gunines smiles and moves away.
Islaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Gunines sprawls well. He's pushed Islaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gunines seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Islaw throws a right and a left that both miss.
As Islaw tries to get set, Gunines tries to push him back and clinch up but Islaw manages to avoid the attempt.
Islaw keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gunines closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gunines is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Islaw to keep the fight standing.

Gunines is pressed up against the cage. Islaw has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gunines down to the mat. Gunines avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gunines throws a front kick that sends Islaw stumbling back into the cage.
Islaw displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gunines.
Islaw throws a head kick that half lands.
Islaw lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gunines will feel that in the morning.

Islaw has managed to clinch.
Islaw jumps guard but Gunines turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Gunines pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gunines dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Islaw. That did some damage!

Gunines is working for takedown but Islaw is calmly controlling the position for now.

Islaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Islaw throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Gunines has Islaw pressed against the cage, preventing Islaw from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gunines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Islaw tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gunines paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gunines is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Islaw.
Islaw swings and misses with a hook to the body.
No luck for Gunines with that takedown attempt.
Gunines defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Islaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Henri Gunines will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Horrible takedown attempt by Islaw or perhaps it was just good defense by Gunines, which made it look bad.

Gunines shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Islaw sprawls well. Islaw wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gunines gets slowly back to his feet.

Gunines shoots in looking for a takedown but Islaw manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gunines's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gunines jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Islaw walks away with a smile on his face. Gunines gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gunines throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Islaw's waist but Islaw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gunines off to one side.

Islaw closes the distance and pushes Gunines back into the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Gunines breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Islaw stuffs the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Gunines. No joy for Islaw on that attempt.
Islaw turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gunines scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Islaw doesn't seem bothered though.

Islaw feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Islaw looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Eric Islaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Gunines has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
