Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Golovkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bardo Gregorio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gregorio has chosen Disturbed- Down with the Sickness as his entrance music. Mikhail Golovkin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bardo Gregorio's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikhail Golovkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bardo Gregorio! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gregorio clobbers Golovkin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gregorio has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Gregorio closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Golovkin's guard. Gregorio wants to control from the top but Golovkin keeps moving. Gregorio slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Golovkin keeping moving, preventing Gregorio from controlling successfully. Gregorio controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gregorio got a little sloppy there for a moment and Golovkin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gregorio has managed to get both his arms back between Golovkin's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gregorio looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Golovkin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gregorio doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gregorio manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gregorio passes Golovkin's left leg - he's now in half guard. Golovkin is trying to control but can't.
Golovkin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gregorio is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Golovkin tries to get to full guard but Gregorio has control of the leg. Gregorio has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Golovkin defend it? Gregorio steps over the head and cranks it - Golovkin is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gregorio!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bardo Gregorio! A relieved looking Bardo Gregorio thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
