Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Sweet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Miller! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Sweet! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller throws a hook but Sweet blocks it. Miller misses the body punch and Sweet counters with a two punch combo. Miller's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sweet under the eye. Sweet looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Miller is fending him off so far but Sweet persists. Nope, Miller circles away and we're back to standing. Nice shot lands for Miller. Miller misses with a hook. Sweet ducked under it nicely. Sweet shoots in for a takedown but Miller shows good takedown defense. Sweet moves into range and clinches up with Miller. Sweet looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Sweet tries to pull guard but Miller won't allow it.
Ben Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Sweet. Sweet is looking to break free of the clinch but Miller has double underhooks. Sweet is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Miller misses with a punch to the body.
Sweet takes a shot to the head. Miller digs a right hand into Sweet's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sweet's gas tank.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller tries to land knees in the clinch but Sweet avoids the damage to the body. A head punch on the inside from Miller fails to land. Miller throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sweets head. I was talking to Miller's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Sweet changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Miller fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A combination from Miller does no damage. Miller cracks a nice hook into Sweet's ribs. Sweet shoots for a double leg takedown but Miller sprawls well. He's pushed Sweet's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Miller seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Miller connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Miller does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Miller has closed the distance and engaged Sweet in a clinch.
Sweet is trying to pull guard but Miller turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Miller has a couple of punches blocked by Sweet.
Miller lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Sweet. Miller throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sweet is trying to drag Miller to the mat but Miller just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Miller lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sweet blocks an elbow strike from Miller.
Miller gets through Sweet's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short right hand to the side of the head by Miller. Miller tries a body shot but Sweet blocks it.
Sweet drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Miller gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sweet has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Miller avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Sweet tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sweet changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Miller fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller clinches up against the cage. Miller is pressed up against the cage. Sweet has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Miller down to the mat. Miller avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sweet walks into a left hand. Miller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sweet to the mat! Sweet manages to get full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Miller controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Miller forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Miller seems content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sweet is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Miller with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Sweet tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg. Miller is taking a breather. Sweet says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sweet trying to control from the bottom.

A jab from Miller does it's job there. Miller is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sweet's half guard. Miller trying to pass the guard but Sweet defending well. Sweet felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Sweet tries to roll over but Miller keeps him under control. Miller passes to full mount! Miller controlling from mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sweet tries to buck Miller off but he can't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sweet is working to get back to half guard.
Sweet defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Miller. Miller looking to control and managing it successfully. Ben Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Miller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Miller blocks Sweet's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller content just to control the position here. Sweet regains half guard. Miller seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Sweet wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller is landing with some decent strikes but Sweet is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Miller sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Miller lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sweet hang on?

That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miller goes for an armbar but Sweet turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sweet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miller looks to score with a jab to the body but Sweet is just out of range. Miller lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sweet circles away quickly and effectively. Sweet is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miller shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. A big left from Miller misses. Miller looks to throw the jab but Sweet is out of range. Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sweet can do to turn this around? Nice body punch from Miller. Miller connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sweet. Sweet circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Miller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sweet's waist but Sweet gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miller off to one side. Miller swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Victor Sweet is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller stuffs the takedown. Sweet shoots in for a double leg but Miller sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Miller is looking to counter the offense by Sweet and move into the clinch. Miller digs a good body shot into Sweet's ribs. Ben Miller is winning the standup battle so far. Sweet jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sweet eats them both and turns towards Miller to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Nice defenses there by Miller. Miller seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Miller throws a solid leg kick but Sweet takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Miller. Sweet follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Sweet shoots in for a takedown but Miller shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ben Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Sweet. Miller lands a left and a right that sends Sweet crashing to the canvas! Miller dives into mount looking to finish! Sweet is still in real trouble! Can Miller finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Miller controlling his opponent. Further stalling from Miller. Miller wants to finish this one by submission but Sweet is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Miller. Sweet seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller has control of Sweet's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sweet regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Miller prevents Sweet from getting the reversal. Sweet is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Miller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Sweet is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Miller scores with a jab to the body. Sweet tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sweet takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Miller drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sweet throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! This has been an exciting period of action! Sweet closes the distance and clinches. Miller throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sweets head. Sweet tries to pull guard but Miller forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Miller tries a body shot but Sweet blocks it.
Sweet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sweet is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Sweet on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Miller throws the kick towards the body but Sweet avoids it. Sweet uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miller.
Sweet is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Sweet fails with the takedown. Miller is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Sweet. Ben Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Sweet. Miller throws a hook but Sweet avoids it easily. Miller closes the distance and lands a one-two. Sweet dives in for a single leg takedown but Miller sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Miller tried to score with a low kick but Sweet checks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sweet misses with a takedown attempt - Miller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sweet is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Miller clinches. Miller gets through Sweet's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Sweet has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sweet throws an elbow that misses.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Miller creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Miller tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Sweet blocks a body shot from Miller. Ben Miller has scored more points in the clinch so far. Sweet is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Miller throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sweets head. A short left from Miller. Sweet takes a shot to the head. Sweet avoids the elbow strike from Miller, against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller lands a nice shot to the body. Sweet blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Miller creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Sweet's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Sweet drops to his knees and Miller pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
