The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gordon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gordon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gallagher gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Oh Gallagher is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gordon is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gallagher has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Gordon wants to finish this one by submission but Gallagher is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gordon.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gordon is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Gallagher is forced to tap! Great finish!

Aaron Gordon was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
