Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dane Mcleod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haven Baez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haven Baez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcleod gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Baez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mcleod clinches up against the cage.
Baez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Mcleod engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Mcleod's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baez looking for a guillotine here but Mcleod defends easily.

Baez is looking to regain half guard here but Mcleod keeps moving and retains side control.
Mcleod swings around for an armbar but Baez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mcleod's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Baez connects with a nice short shot to Mcleod's temple.
Mcleod has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Baez is working away from the top position though.

Mcleod moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mcleod knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baez on the ground.

Baez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcleod sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baez somewhat.

Baez wants the takedown. Mcleod is fighting it off but Baez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mcleod's guard against the cage.

Baez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mcleod will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mcleod is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mcleod is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Baez defends it well.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Baez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcleod is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are battling for position here. Baez manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dane Mcleod will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Baez shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcleod tries to sprawl out of it but Baez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcleod manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well Mcleod has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
