Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dane Mcleod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haven Baez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haven Baez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dane Mcleod! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Haven Baez! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcleod gets in close and instigates a clinch. Baez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mcleod clinches up against the cage. Baez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mcleod engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Mcleod's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baez looking for a guillotine here but Mcleod defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcleod showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Baez has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcleod has passed into side control.
Mcleod moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Baez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Baez is looking to regain half guard here but Mcleod keeps moving and retains side control. Mcleod swings around for an armbar but Baez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mcleod's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Mcleod keeping moving, preventing Baez from controlling successfully. Baez preventing the sweep. Baez is looking to work some ground and pound but Mcleod has wrist control. Mcleod trying to control the position here. Mcleod is trying to keep Baez in close.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mcleod holds on and takes a little breather. Baez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Baez pushes down on Mcleod's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mcleod wants to control but Baez is keeping busy.
Baez is keen to just control but Mcleod is a slippery customer.

Mcleod tries to get to full guard but Baez has control of the leg. Mcleod keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Baez connects with a nice short shot to Mcleod's temple. Mcleod has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Baez is working away from the top position though. Mcleod throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Mcleod moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mcleod knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baez on the ground. Baez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Baez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Baez with a nice head shot there. Baez trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcleod is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Baez preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haven Baez dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mcleod closes the distance and clinches. Mcleod breaks from the clinch.
Baez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcleod sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baez somewhat. Mcleod takes the fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baez manages to break the clinch.
Mcleod has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baez wants the takedown. Mcleod is fighting it off but Baez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mcleod's guard against the cage. Mcleod looking for a sweep. Not yet Mcleod, not yet. Mcleod has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Baez has passed into side control.
Haven Baez has got the better of the ground game so far. Mcleod tries to improve position but can't. Baez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcleod knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Baez is looking to take a break and control but Mcleod is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mcleod manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Baez is pressing down on Mcleod's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mcleod is holding on for now. Mcleod avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Baez. Baez prevents Mcleod from improving his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcleod is working hard here to advance position. Mcleod is pressing down on Baez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Baez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Baez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mcleod will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Baez stopping the sweep attempt from Mcleod. Baez wants to control from the top but Mcleod keeps moving. Baez is breathing heavily. Baez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mcleod preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mcleod is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mcleod is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Baez defends it well. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Mcleod seems content to control. Baez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcleod is working away from the top position though. Mcleod is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The fighters are battling for position here. Baez manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Baez working for a triangle but Mcleod defends it easily.
Baez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Dane Mcleod will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Baez shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcleod tries to sprawl out of it but Baez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcleod manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Baez is defended easily by Mcleod. Baez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mcleod is fending him off so far but Baez persists. Nope, Mcleod circles away and we're back to standing. Dane Mcleod has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Haven Baez. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcleod moves into the clinch. Mcleod breaks the clinch.
Baez tries for a takedown but Mcleod sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mcleod really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Baez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mcleod.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcleod fails with a takedown attempt. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mcleod. Baez tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcleod moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Baez is trying to control Mcleod's posture but Mcleod avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcleod working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcleod working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Baez tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Mcleod pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Baez is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Baez looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mcleod keeps control of the position as Baez tries to break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Dane Mcleod showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mcleod has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
