Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yahweh Falwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Falwell's choice of entrance music: Don't Stop Believing. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 65 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yahweh Falwell!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Falwell gets caught flat footed, as Mendes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Falwell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Falwell wants to stand but Mendes is controlling the position.
Mendes content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mendes distracts Falwell with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mendes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mendes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mendes controlling from the top position.
Further stalling from Mendes.
Mendes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Falwell for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Falwell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Mendes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Mendes is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Mendes is working for a submission of some sort.

Mendes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Falwell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mendes continues to stall.

Mendes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Falwell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mendes.
Mendes slows the pace down in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Falwell has hold of Mendes's hands but Mendes slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mendes shoots in and bounces Falwell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mendes scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Falwell is still in real trouble! Can Mendes finish him?

Falwell is looking to stand up but Mendes isn't so interested in that idea.
Mendes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mendes scoring with some ground and pound.
Mendes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mendes arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Falwell's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jake Mendes!
Jake Mendes seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Yahweh Falwell spoke after the fight, saying 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much. I bet if I rolled more instead of praying, I might have learned to defend submissions. I guess it's God's will. But to quote George Carlin: "If it's God's will and he's going to do what he wants to anyway, why'.
