Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, The Steel Penn Alliance! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Klincko! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klincko tries a low kick but Steel Penn Alliance avoids it. Steel Penn Alliance lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Steel Penn Alliance looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Klincko scores with a push kick. A punch combination from Klincko misses. Klincko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Steel Penn Alliance counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Klincko throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Sloppy strikes from Klincko. Those never looked like landing. Klincko pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Steel Penn Alliance takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Klincko throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Steel Penn Alliance counters with a single leg into guard. Klincko didn't expect that. Klincko working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Steel Penn Alliance has passed into half guard!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Klincko works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klincko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Steel Penn Alliance is controlling him. Klincko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Steel Penn Alliance's guard. Steel Penn Alliance looking for a sweep. Not yet Steel Penn Alliance, not yet. Steel Penn Alliance preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Klincko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Steel Penn Alliance's head. Klincko throws an elbow that misses. Steel Penn Alliance uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Klincko's guard. Nice move by Steel Penn Alliance! Klincko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Steel Penn Alliance trying to control the position from guard on top but Klincko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Klincko tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Klincko throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Steel Penn Alliance escapes and throws Klincko's legs to the side, diving into side control! Steel Penn Alliance thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Klincko is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Steel Penn Alliance is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Klincko told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Steel Penn Alliance manages to capitalize on a mistake by Klincko to take his back! Klincko is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Steel Penn Alliance gets his way!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Klincko prevents Steel Penn Alliance from getting a body triangle. Klincko is trying to break free.
Klincko is trying to roll into a better position but Steel Penn Alliance has get a rear naked choke and Klincko is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!
