Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Eddard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reino Kanki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanki has chosen I'm Shipping Up To Boston as his entrance music. Karl Eddard has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Eddard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reino Kanki! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eddard lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kanki doesn't manage to clinch there - Eddard circles away.
Eddard scores with a jab. Kanki acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Kanki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Eddard drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Eddard throwing strikes but missing. Eddard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kanki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've been hearing that Eddard has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Eddard is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kanki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eddard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Eddard scoring with some ground and pound. Eddard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Eddard working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kanki's head. Eddard sitting in guard, not really doing much. Eddard works over Kanki with some ground and pound from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eddard controlling from the top position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kanki can do anything to dispel that myth. Kanki preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Eddard is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Eddard looking to sit in guard and control but Kanki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Eddard is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanki wants to sweep here but Eddard controlling him for the moment. Kanki keeping moving, preventing Eddard from controlling successfully. Eddard scoring with some ground and pound. Eddard stops Kanki from standing up. Eddard scoring with some ground and pound. Eddard lands a couple of elbows. Eddard with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Eddard scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Eddard lands a couple of digs. Kanki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kanki working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Eddard. Kanki looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Eddard passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eddard lands a few punches from side control. Eddard is working Kanki over with some ground and pound from side control. Eddard is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kanki will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Eddard trying to control the action but Kanki is working from the bottom. Eddard creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Kanki takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Eddard looks up at the clock and then as Kanki takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Eddard smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eddard lands a few punches from side control. Kanki is looking for a sweep. Eddard working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Eddard scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kanki to see if he's OK.
Kanki is rocked! Eddard in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Kanki looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Eddard turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
