Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Corey Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Strummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Be Touched. Strummer has chosen The Stranglers- Nice N' Sleazy as his entrance music. Corey Davis has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Corey Davis!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Strummer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strummer throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Davis takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Davis throws the left hand but Strummer avoids the punch easily.
Strummer is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Strummer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Davis.
Davis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Lucky Liam's MMA Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Strummer lands a slapping body shot.
Davis looks for the body kick but Strummer saw that one coming.
Nice takedown defense from Davis. No joy for Strummer on that attempt.
A big right from Strummer misses.
Davis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Strummer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davis sprawls well initially but Strummer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's time! Davis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Good leg kick by Strummer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Davis appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Strummer throws a body punch but Davis moves out of range.

Joe Strummer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Strummer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Davis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Davis fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Strummer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Strummer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Davis can pounce on him.

Davis scores with the left hand. Strummer knows he should have avoided that one.
Davis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Strummer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davis swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Strummer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Davis fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Davis lands with a nice body kick.

Strummer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Strummer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Davis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Strummer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Strummer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there.

Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Strummer isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Davis stacks Strummer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Davis!
Strummer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Strummer wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.

Strummer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Davis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Davis has escaped and now he's on top!

Davis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Strummer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Corey Davis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
