And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Maldonado!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado slaps away a takedown attempt from Muji, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Muji shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maldonado is trying to defend but Muji finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Maldonado tries to get to full guard but Muji has control of the leg.
Muji is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Muji lands strikes from half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maldonado can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maldonado is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Muji pulls his head out easily.
Muji lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Muji is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Maldonado defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muji is looking to take a break and control but Maldonado is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, if Muji is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Maldonado looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Muji is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Muji takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Maldonado on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Maldonado really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Muji. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Muji lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maldonado trying to hold on to Muji's head to control him but Muji postures up.
Maldonado tries to roll over but Muji keeps him under control.
Muji takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Muji prevents Maldonado from improving his position.
Nice strikes from Muji there.
Muji keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Muji passes to full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Muji landing strikes, looking to finish!
Maldonado tries to reverse the position but Muji maintains control.
Muji has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maldonado is rocked!
Muji softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Maldonado is out cold! Muji jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vincent Muji!

Vincent Muji took some time post fight to say the following; 'I want to say thank you to my opponent Maldonado , Thanks to my manager , thanks to my boss War Pig and he llo my long time rival Eddie Guillermo i hope you can move to primal and we can fight again'.
