Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kevin Short and Maxim Bok. Bok comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Give It Revolution kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Maxim Bok has the eye of the tiger tonight.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Kevin Short! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Maxim Bok! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Short displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bok. Bok shoots for a takedown but Short saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bok will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kevin Short has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Bok. Short clinches. Bok jumps guard but Short turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Short successfully pulls guard.
Bok stands and throws Short's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Short (0) vs (3) Bok Short is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at LOD: Legion's PIT Fight Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Short is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Short gets back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Short trying to control but Bok postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bok trying to pass the guard but Short defending well. Bok is controlling the pace.
Short works his way to full guard. Good work. Bok passes Short's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bok is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Short is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bok's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bok's back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Short (4) vs (3) Bok
That's two minutes gone in the round. Short is trying to stick to Bok's back but Bok is turning into Short. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Short's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bok. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Short (4) vs (5) Bok Short had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bok defends it easily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Short not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Short is fighting to maintain full guard but Bok has managed to sneak the leg through. Bok seems to be working for a kimura but Short defends the submission attempt. Bok is trying to control the action in half guard but Short is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Short wants to get back to full guard. Bok is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Short sees it coming and defends easily. Short tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Bok has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Score +3 for passing guard: Short (4) vs (8) Bok Bok goes for an armbar but Short turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Short. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Short (6) vs (8) Bok Bok had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Short defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Short slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Short trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bok isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Short stacks Bok on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Short! Score +3 for passing guard: Short (9) vs (8) Bok Bok is not content to let Short control the position. Bok is looking to regain half guard here but Short keeps moving and retains side control.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Short knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bok on the ground. Short tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Bok is looking to reverse the position. Short advances nicely into full mount. Score +2 for reaching mount: Short (11) vs (8) Bok Bok is trying desperately to improve position. Short moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bok has worked his arm free - good work by Bok!
Bok is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Short's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Short is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bok tries to roll over but Short keeps him under control. Short is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bok gets full guard. Bok has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Short doesn't defend quickly enough and Bok has managed to lock this one up! Can Short escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bok on a fantastic submission victory.
